Installing Workbench Office Add-ins on a PC that does not have the Workbench client installed
To begin you will need the Workbench Office URL from the Workbench Office tab of the Workbench Configuration Manager on the Workbench server. Note: You do not need the '?wsdl' part of the URL.
The Workbench Office Add-ins for Microsoft Office are stored in the QWB_PRO share on the Workbench server (e.g. \\servername\qwb_pro\clients\Workbench Office Installers). The folders are broken down into Office version, 2007, 2010 & 2013, and there are installers for the 32 & 64Bit versions of Office (not the operating system!) for Office 2010 and 2013.
Access the relevant installer folder for the version of Office you are currently on and double-click on the setup.exe file. At this point if .NET Framework is not installed you will be taken to the download page.
On the Welcome screen click [Next].
Use the [Browse] button and select the Installation folder location as C:\Program Files (x86)\ and then click [Next].
On the Select Web Service Location screen, enter the URL for Workbench Office (this will typically be http://WorkbenchServerName/IGSWebService/igsWorkbenchOffice.asmx). Click [Next].
On the Web Service Cookie Domain Names screen, enter the name of the Workbench server into the relevant field depending on whether you have IVPro or IntraVista (if you are unsure, enter it into both), then click the [Next] button.
On the Confirm Installation screen click [Next].
If you receive the User Account Control (UAC) prompt click [Yes]. Once the installation has completed click the [Close] button.
After installing the other Add-ins (depending on which ones you intend to use), the Workbench Office add-in should now appear in the ribbon.
